16-channels for 8-zone entertainment
Featuring eight, fully controllable zones, the Anthem MDX-16 is perfect for larger multi-room systems. This 8-zone distribution amp is large enough for most homes, without requiring further amplification. Have sound in your sitting room, kitchen, dining room, study and four bedrooms and all powered from a single distribution amp.
Configurable zones
Each zone can be set with a custom name, multiple inputs, independent playback and tuning controls. Fully independent adjustment within each zone makes this a premium multi-room product that’s as good as having individual systems in each room.
ARC Genesis for each room
A key feature that sets the Anthem MDX-16 apart from other distribution amps is ARC (Anthem Room Correction) Genesis. This delivers individual room tuning to each zone. Compatible with Mac and Windows, this third generation room correction system uses bespoke DSP (Digital Signal Processing) and a dedicated microphone. Once set-up, you’ll hear an astonishing improvement in how much more integrated and ‘together’ the sound is. (Professional set-up recommended).
Dedicated subwoofer outputs
All eight output zones feature RCA phono subwoofer outputs. This gives you full control of the bass response in each zone. Use with Anthem Room Correction (ARC) and get the optimised bass response in each room – no matter how small or large.
Punchy, digital amplification
Thanks to efficient digital amplification, the MDX-16 produces 60 watts per zone – easily matching most conventional hi-fi amps. If you need more power, the outputs can be bridged (with reduced zone outputs) for up to 200 watts per zone.
Analogue and digital inputs
Eight analogue and four digital inputs let you connect a wide range of components. Use the two optical and two coaxial connections for sources such as a TV, set-top box, games console and Blu-ray/DVD/CD player, with the remaining eight analogue inputs ideal for everything else. With full analogue/digital matrix switching, any input can be assigned to any output – seamlessly.
Digital and analogue pass through
If your multi-room system is more ambitious, you can daisy-chain multiple MDX amps via the analogue pass through connection. Likewise, the digital output maintains digital switching between multiple units.
Compliments your choice of home automation control
With robust IP and RS-232 connections, the MDX-16 works with a wide range of home automation systems. Drivers are available for Control4, Crestron, Savant, Elan, URC and, coming soon, RTI.
Shelf or rack mount
Supplied with rack-mount brackets, the MDX-16 slots into your home entertainment system with ease. As the brackets aren’t fixed permanently in place, the MDX-16 also works just as well situated on a conventional hi-fi stand.
