Rega Brio Mk7: The Long-Awaited Upgrade Arrives
Rega has officially unveiled the seventh-generation Brio, the Brio Mk7, at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show 2025. This latest iteration of the highly regarded integrated amplifier retains the core elements that have made the Brio series a favourite among audiophiles while introducing significant enhancements, most notably the long-requested addition of a built-in digital-to-analogue converter (DAC).
Key Features and Enhancements
Power and Performance
The Brio Mk7 delivers 50 watts per channel into 8Ω and 72 watts into 6Ω, providing ample power to drive a wide range of loudspeakers while maintaining Rega’s renowned clarity and musicality.
Integrated DAC for Digital Sources
For the first time in the Brio lineup, Rega has incorporated a built-in DAC, significantly expanding the amplifier’s versatility. This allows users to connect digital sources directly, eliminating the need for an external DAC and offering a more streamlined listening experience.
Enhanced Connectivity
The amplifier provides a comprehensive range of input options, catering to both analogue and digital setups:
- Three RCA line-level inputs
- A dedicated moving magnet (MM) phono stage for turntables
- Optical and coaxial digital inputs for seamless integration with digital sources
- A 3.5mm headphone output for private listening
Refined Design and Internal Improvements
While maintaining its signature compact, half-width aluminium chassis, the Brio Mk7 is slightly deeper than its predecessors to accommodate the new digital circuitry. Internally, the signal path has been carefully optimized to minimize interference between analogue and digital components, preserving the amplifier’s signature purity of sound. The exterior design has also been subtly refreshed to align with Rega’s current amplifier range.
New Remote and Usability Enhancements
The Brio Mk7 includes a newly designed mini system remote, featuring a standby function that integrates with future Rega products for added convenience.
Pricing and Availability
The Rega Brio Mk7 is priced at £799, positioning it between the more budget-friendly Rega io (£440) and the higher-end Elex Mk4 (£1,260). It is now available for order in our stores.
With these updates, the Brio Mk7 remains a compelling choice for those seeking Rega’s signature analogue warmth, now with enhanced digital flexibility.
